Site Works

 

Breaking the soil is where all good yards start from and it is often a deceptively large job, as even a small amount of soil removed over a large area can add up to literally truckloads. With the use of our mini-loader, we can sneak into almost every backyard making this task quick and easy. For larger scale jobs a Bobcat and tipper truck will do most of the heavy lifting. When needed, it’s all hands-on deck with a shovel and wheelbarrow to get your yard back to a blank canvas. We can also organize tree lopping and stump grinding for any of the more established trees that may need removing.

 

Decking

 

When it comes to decking, Beck’s Landscaping knows what really matters. Although what you see on-top is critical, it’s what's underneath that really matters. We only use 90 x 45mm treated pine for our joists, which are secured to 90 x 90 mm sub-frame timber. Coupled with big galvanized steel stirrups and concrete, you can feel safe knowing your deck is going to be around for a long time. We work with all types of timber and composite wood, including jarrah, merbau and eco-deck, and fasten the deck using stainless steel screws.

 

Artificial Lawn

 

For the ultimate low maintenance lawn, you can’t go past artificial grass. We can supply the lawn on it’s own or supply and install it to a high standard. We often use a 35mm grass which is long enough to be soft but not too long that the blades fall over under foot traffic. The grass is installed on top of screeded crusher dust (crushed blue metal) to a thickness of 50mm and any joins are held together with high strength adhesive tape and U-pins. For the final touches, white sand is spread and the grass is ‘fluffed’ using our petrol powered broom.

 

Reticulation and Lawn

 

There is a lot of pleasure to be taken from a well-kept lawn, and it all starts with good preparation, reticulation and roll on lawn. After clearing the site to an appropriate level, we can bring in good quality soil which will keep the lawn happy for years to come. After a rough level the reticulation system can be installed. Through the course of many years, Beck’s has dealt with some extremely complicated situations and reticulation has become our ‘bread and butter’. We can ensure the correct amount of stations to allow the right pressure for each particular type of sprinkler head. We only ever use quality gear, usually from the likes of Hunter and Toro, so you know that your system will function as it should. Once your lawn is installed, we can give you the right advice to keep it well maintained.

 

Paving and Concrete

Another important part of most Australian yards is paving and concrete. We can supply and lay all types of paving from standard 190 x 190 pavers, to 600 x 300 travertine stone pavers. This can also include capping around pools. Your pavers will be laid on a minimum of 50mm compacted brickies sand and we generously sweep in white sand over the pavers on finishing. For a more modern look, exposed aggregate concrete can be organised for your home, as well as liquid limestone, standard grey concrete, or even polished concrete.
